A 23-year-old man from Nigeria recently graduated with a college degree after becoming a plumber to pay for his tuition.

According to Black News, Gabriel Eze, 23, earned a Petroleum Engineering degree from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri.

Eze used scholarships and his plumbing business to pay for his college tuition. The 23-year-old initially pursued plumbing at the age of 14 due to financial constraints.

Eze found success in plumbing, but his passion for mathematics and engineering led him to pursue Petroleum Engineering. Eze's plumbing background helped him quickly pick up fluid dynamics, which is a crucial aspect of Petroleum Engineering.

The 23-year-old was able to balance his studies and plumbing, graduating college with a cumulative GPA of 4.65. Eze said he's interested in pursuing a master's degree or Ph.D. while completing the National Youth Service Corps program.

Eze also plans to continue plumbing as he believes "success isn’t solely defined by academic accolades and emphasizes the importance of diligence and focus in any endeavor," according to Black News.
