PROGRESSIVE PANIC: No, Kavanaugh is not 'a death sentence for thousands of women in the U.S.'

posted by Glenn Beck -

President Donald Trump's decision to nominate Judge Brett Kavanaugh to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy has sparked an uproar on the Left. Predictably, of all the potential issues that could come before the Supreme Court, Democrats are building their opposition to Kavanaugh based solely on the issue of abortion.

But is Kavanaugh's vote to overturn Roe v. Wade really the 'sure thing' that panicked progressives are making it out to be? Glenn Beck doesn't think so.

"The court takes only 80 cases per year and your number one issue is how Kavanaugh might theoretically vote if the court took a case challenging Roe verses Wade? I don't think he's going to," Glenn said. "He's far too careful. He doesn't like making big decisions."

The Women's March movement has already called Kavanaugh's nomination "a death sentence for thousands of women in the United States." Of course, they also had their opposition letter pre-written for an email blast, which rather embarrassingly was sent out before the nominee's name could be inserted, as seen below:

A little further along in the statement, someone did manage to insert the name but, oops, spelled it incorrectly.

They must have been having a rough day, which isn't too surprising given that Trump just announced the imminent death of scores of American women. Nevertheless, they have been able to rally enough strength to launch a “wire hanger" publicity stunt encouraging people to hand-deliver a message “directly to your Senators' district offices attached to a wire hanger to demanding they vote against confirming Trump's pick."

Oh, wait, that was also planned before President Trump's Monday night announcement.

“The panic over Roe verses Wade is slightly overblown," said Glenn, pointing out that at his 2006 confirmation hearing for the D.C. Circuit Court, Kavanaugh was asked for his personal opinion regarding Roe v. Wade. Kavanaugh flatly refused to give his opinion, stating repeatedly that he would follow the law “faithfully and fully."

“Isn't that what you want out of a judge?" Glenn asked, adding, “I don't care what [his] personal opinion is."
