Starbucks Customers Can Now Earn Delta SkyMiles From Purchases

Starbucks has teamed up with Delta Air Lines to bring a system where customers can earn rewards not only at the coffee spot but also with the airline.

“Through this new partnership with Starbucks, we can deliver more moments and interactions that matter, both in the air and on the ground,” said Prashant Sharma, the vice president of loyalty at Delta, in Wednesday’s press releases from Starbucks and Delta.

This rewards system has already gone into effect and when Starbucks customers make an eligible purchase at participating locations, they will earn one Delta SkyMile for every $1 spent. Also if a customer makes a purchase the day they have a Delta flight scheduled, then they'll be able to earn double "stars" on qualifying purchases.

The reward system would only be available for people who are Starbucks Rewards members and are in the Delta SkyMiles program. Those interested in taking advantage of this promotion can link their two accounts here so they can start earning points.

If you are a member for both of these companies, you might want to link your accounts by December 31st because if you do so, you'll be rewarded with 500 SkyMiles along with 150 "stars." Those who are Delta Diamond or Platinum SkyMiles members also will have the choice to use 4,000 stars as part of Delta's annual Choice Benefits for Medallion-tier members starting in 2024.
