Another day, another scam.
If you are currently looking to buy a house, you might want to be careful because there is a new scheme where scammers pose as brokers to get money from money transfers. The scammer will first send phishing emails to brokers and companies to hack into their email accounts and from there the scammer can trick homebuyers.
Once the scammer gets ahold of the email account, they create a similar one so it seems legit to the homebuyer and from there they can send the money wiring instructions. If someone becomes a victim to this scam, they should report it to their bank immediately so the funds can be recovered.
