Take a drive, relax and enjoy one of the oldest known meteor showers light up the sky.
According to KTLA 5, the Lyrid meteor shower will peak tonight, April 21, and tomorrow and is best seen in the northern hemisphere. The meteor showers are usually active from April 15 to 29 and are known for having fast and bright meteors that leave glowing dust trains behind them as they zoom across the sky.
The best way to watch the Lyrid meteor showers is from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. in an area away from the city or street lights while laying flat on your back looking up at the sky as your feet face east. NASA says to be patient because it takes some time for your eyes to adjust before you see the meteors.
