Taco Bell is testing a brand new plant-based protein menu at one location in Tustin, California.
The popular fast-food restaurant chain said their new plant-based meat is made from chickpeas and a blend of peas.
The ingredients will make their debut in the "Cravetarian" Taco, which is a crunchy taco that includes cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and reduced fat sour cream adding up to 180 calories, less than the Crunchy Taco Supreme.
Taco Bell adds that "fans who are vegan or those who want to try more plant-based foods can customize almost every Taco Bell menu item to be vegan." So if you're vegan you can ask them to remove the dairy cheese and sour cream.
