Wanna own a piece of Van Halen History?!
A Frankenstein clone that both Edward Van Halen and believe it or not Mick Mars owned is coming to the auction block. This particular Kramer is modeled after the original "Frankenstein", which Ed played from 1982 through 1983 on the band's Hide Your Sheep Tour to support Diver Down. Now it has not been reported as to whether or not the guitar is the same one he used for the US Festival, which took place in that time frame, but most likely it is, being that technically it was the last date of the tour, for which they got paid $1.5 Million to play the date making them the highest paid band in the world at the time.
Van Halen's guitar will feature in Sotheby's "Rock & Pop" auction on October, 24th, which will include memorabilia from Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, and The Beatles, as the auction house estimates the guitar will go for $2 million to $3 million, being that the guitar was also owned my Motley Crue’s Mick Mars, who played it while recording Dr. Feelgood.
“Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Also it's a great piece of history." Mars wrote in the letter of authenticity.
