Genesis is going into their big catalogue and are releasing "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway 50th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition"!
Coming out on June 13, the ultimate collection will celebrate the landmark album,
"Featuring a brand new remaster of the original album mix from the 1974 tapes, the Complete Presentation of Genesis’ January 24,1975 Concert ‘Live from the Shrine Auditorium, Los Angeles, CA’, a Dolby ATMOS mix overseen by Peter Gabriel and Tony Banks at Real World Studios, and 96Hz/24-bit high resolution audio on Blu-ray, and a 60-page coffee table style book with extensive liner notes including exclusive full band interview about the making of the album. The unreleased material includes restored audio download of selected Headley Grange demos, unseen photos and ephemera." the band said in a release.
The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway was a double album, and their last to feature Peter Gabriel, who devised the concept album about Rael, from New York City who takes a journey of self-discovery. The album increased tensions within the band as Gabriel, insisted on writing all of the lyrics, but left to work with filmmaker William Friedkin and spend time with his family.
The album received mixed reviews and failed to outsell its predecessors, but gained a cult following and reaching Gold certification
The band released a video for the title track to promote the deluxe, which will be available in Multiple Formats: 5LP+BluRay Audio | 4CD+BluRay Audio | Digital (including Dolby ATMOS).
