Seismologists studying the Earth beneath Bermuda were surprised to find a massive layer of rock unlike anything ever seen before. The peculiar anomaly, which reportedly boasts a thickness of nearly twelve and a half miles, was discovered by researchers examining the unusual behavior of seismic waves under the archipelago. Dubbed a 'structure,' though seemingly natural, the monstrous rock layer has been likened to a life raft that raised the crust beneath Bermuda and has kept it afloat for millions of years.
