Video: Termite Mound in Thailand Resembles Popular 'Ghost Boy'

A termite mound discovered in Thailand is causing something of a stir due to its uncanny resemblance to a legendary spirit that has become particularly popular in the country over the last year. The eerie sight was reportedly found in a jungle near the community of Ban Khok Klang earlier this week. The small humanoid shape of the mound led onlookers to liken it to a figure known as Ai Khai, which translates to Egg Boy, a mischievous spirit believed to bring good luck.

Over the past year, Ai Khai has become a bonafide sensation in Thailand with many residents flocking to a statue of the spirit at the Wat Chedi temple in the hopes of improving their fortunes. Although the termite mound was only just discovered this week, a similar phenomenon has already begun to unfold with numerous people visiting the wondrous insect nest and leaving offerings to Egg Boy.
