A mother and son walking along a beach in Florida were stunned to see that a rather sizeable shipwreck has somehow washed ashore.
Initially thinking that it was merely a big piece of driftwood, Julie Turner could not believe her eyes when she got closer and realized that it was the 48-foot-long remains of a ship.
Maritime historians from the area marveled at the incredible vessel, calling it "the holy grail of shipwrecks" due to both its fairly-well-preserved condition as well as its remarkable age of origin, which could be as far back as the 1700's.
In a testament to our modern age, researchers were able to quickly examine the vessel and produced a copious amount of documentation of the ship's remains in the hopes of constructing a 3D recreation.
