Here's today's feel-good story:
Peter Marshall, an Alzheimer's patient, has been married to his wife Lisa for 12 years. His illness has progressed rapidly but Lisa has always been by his side.
“He doesn’t know that I’m his wife. I’m just his favorite person,” Lisa said. “I don’t need to have a label. I don’t need a name because our hearts are connected.”
Peter was inspired last winter, while they were sitting on the couch watching a televised wedding, to propose to Lisa not realizing that they were already married. Lisa happily accepted!
“It was so perfect. I couldn’t have dreamt for a better day. It was so magical,” Lisa said. “I can’t remember seeing him so happy for so long… I’m the luckiest girl in the world. I [got] to do it twice.”
