Hooters waitress Aby Lynn posted her best tip secrets on TikTok. according to her, these tips are her tried and true way of maximizing her income:
- Put effort into your appearance. "People notice whenever you put effort into yourself."
- Keeping the customers drinks full is the "most important" thing. Even if they're halfway full, bring them another one, because people are impatient. Keep them full."
- Give your regulars nicknames or pet names. She says it makes them feel comfortable and more attracted to you. "I always say, 'Hey babe, can I get you another drink?' 'Hey, hon, did you want another beer?' 'Hey sweetheart, are you ready for the check?' They eat it up I'm telling you."
- This tip is for when you're serving couples. "If a guy's with a girl, always greet the girl first. You pay attention to that girl, you make eye contact with that girl." Sh says to only look at the man "when you're taking his order or giving him the drink. Always make the girl feel comfortable especially at Hooters."
- Get ready to laugh. "Even if you don't think it's funny, even if you're offended by it - laugh. Because they will tip you, I promise.
- Pay attention to your customers attitude - some don't want a super sweet server and prefer one that's more "feisty."
- This last tip was controversial, but when I was a server I sued this tip A LOT - always blame the kitchen. "If you forgot to bring in food - that's the kitchens fault." She recommends offering a free dessert to make up for it.
