A new study published in ScienceAdvances suggest that people who stink together may stick together. As it turns out, a person's body odor and ability to smell can impact their search for platonic friends of the same sex. Basically, people who 'click' immediately generally have a similar body odor. Researches studied 20 same-sex friends that claimed to have "clicked instantly" and pairs of strangers which they sorted by scent to play a game and then report if they "clicked" after. Researchers found that similarly scented strangers "liked each other, understood each other, felt there was chemistry between them, and that they could be friends." But what about people that are "nose-blind"? Unfortunately, to can mean that there is a "loss of important social information that influences our social behavior."

So if you have good smelling fiends, good news for you! Others probably find your smell very pleasant! And if you have stinky friends? Welllllll, at least you have some great friends that like you for you!
