Chipotle Food Poisoning Outbreak

Back in 2015, the well-known Mexican food chain, Chipotle experienced a serious E. Coli outbreak. The unlucky fortune has unfortunately returned causing over 700 consumers to experience foodborne illnesses. The good news is that it seems the outbreak is coming from only one specific location in Powell, Ohio.

According to the Dayton newspaper the source of the foodborne illnesses is still unidentified and tests for Salmonella, Shigella, E. coli and Norovirus have come back negative. The two main culprits of the outbreaks are linked back to both black and pinto beans, along with lettuce that was not properly refrigerated after preparation. YUCK.

One Chipotle customer affected by the foodborne illness outbreak is now suing the restaurant chain for more than $250,000. Ohio attorney, Ron Simon, who has also started two additional lawsuits against Chipotle released a statement earlier this week confirming these lawsuits are just the beginning in what he predicts to be a long court battle.
