Lana Del Rey took over this year's Met Gala in a captivating, enchanting look that absolutely no one saw coming.
The illustrious songstress ascended the staircase in a bewitching beige corset gown with vines running up the front that perfectly captured this year's theme, "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, The Garden of Time." The look, a custom design by Alexander McQueen’s Seán McGirr (per Vogue), featured a commanding headpiece complete with tulle netting that matched the dreamy dress.
The extravagant look is actually a nod to a 2006 style and was inspired by "the patina and form of sculptures made by the Swiss artist Alberto Giacometti." McGirr used natural hawthorn branches to tie the entire ensemble together.
The "Summertime Sadness" star also carried a handbag that featured a red rose and a clock to really highlight the evening's dress code.
Lana truly stole the show in the bold, twiggy ensemble, and even took time to share the spotlight with friend, Kim Kardashian. The two can be seen partaking in light discussion at the bottom of the staircase as onlookers gaze at their ravishing fits in awe. They met up again at the top of the staircase to speak with actress La La Anthony, commenting on how special it is for family to be involved in the Met Gala, and doting on each other's fabulous fits.
