President Joe Biden was met by numerous protesters as he arrived in Los Angeles for the ninth Summit of the Americas on Wednesday (June 8).
While most of the protesters chanted and held signs, one pro-abortion protester got a little too close to Biden's motorcade. The woman, who has not been identified, was tackled by a Secret Service agent after she into the street.
The woman yelled profanities at the officer and then screamed: "An abortion ban will not stop abortions – only safe ones."
The woman tried to resist and knocked off the agent's hat and sunglasses. He eventually subdued her and took her into custody.
"Shortly after 5 p.m., an adult female entered a restricted roadway along a motorcade route on Chick Hearn Ct in Los Angeles," Anthony Guglielmi, chief of communications for the U.S. Secret Service, said in a statement following the incident. "As the woman approached passing vehicles, a United States Secret Service agent swiftly removed her from the roadway and placed her into custody. There was no impact to the motorcade movement or our protectees. Our investigation into this incident is ongoing."
Officials did not say what charges the woman was facing.
