Matty Healy Says A Drive Like I Do Project Is 'Coming Out Pretty Soon'

Before The 1975 was The 1975, they were Drive Like I Do — an emo band that was fond of Fall Out Boy covers. And it looks like they're coming back.

Singer Matty Healy has been teasing the band's resurrection for months now, and during a recent Instagram story video he said something "is coming out pretty soon."

“There’s a lot of people asking me about Drive Like I Do," he said in the video. "Drive Like I Do was the band that we were before The 1975, so it’s kind of as humble as it was."

“There’s the old music, there’s a little bit of new music. I’m not gonna make a fanfare about it. It’s not coming out today, but it’s coming out pretty soon," Healy continued. "That’ll be a nice little thing. There’s loads of things going on, coming out, so I’m excited.”

Though it'll be excited to hear DLID music, fans shouldn't expect a full album. Over the weekend, Healy revealed he was finishing the project but "it's not a full album."

Aside from DLID, The 1975 also recently confirmed that they're working on a new album, which will be the followup to last year's Notes on a Conditional Form.
