Pete Davidson Jokes About Ariana Grande Breakup Post-Suicide Scare

Pete Davidson made his return to standup last night, and the comic had some things to say about ex-fiancee Ariana Grande.

While doing his comedy set in Boston on New Year's Eve (December 31), the Saturday Night Live star made it a point to address — or rather poke fun at — the pink elephant in the room: his whirlwind romance with the "God Is a Woman" pop star.

According to E! News, Davidson started by addressing the mention he received from the pop star in her song "thank u, next," in which Grande sings, "Even almost go married/ And for Pete I'm so thankful."

(The couple was engaged for four months before breaking things off in October.)

"Here’s the thing about the breakup song. Usually breakup songs you know who it’s about but you don’t really know. That G named all of us," Davidson told the crowd of the track, which dropped hours before he was scheduled to perform on SNL. "Bam. She named all of us. And then, tells us, yeah, he has a big d**k."

"That s**t came out before I had to put on a f**ing duck hat and be like, 'derrrp here’s the pizza!'" he continued. "So all my friends were there. It was a sad day. We didn’t know it was going to happen … So I start playing it. And we’re all like, 'Ehhh… it’s ok.' We’re like 'Okay, it’s not that bad for you. It’s bad, but it’s not that bad for you.'"

He finally addressed their breakup on SNL when it released on November 3. "Some things don't work out and that's okay," he said. "[Ariana's] a wonderful, strong person and I genuinely wish her all the happiness in the world."

Even so, the exes are no longer on speaking terms. Davidson has since been actively avoiding her for his mental health following the suspected suicide note he posted online just weeks after opening up about being bullied and harassed over their relationship.
