Kanye West Quits Social Media After Controversial Comments

Kanye West is quitting the internet once again.

Surprising probably no one, the "Power" rapper deactivated his Instagram and Twitter accounts last night (October 6) after the wave of criticism he's received for the divisive comments he's made recently.

"It's so many times that I talk to a white person about this, and they say, 'How could you like Trump? He's racist.' Well if I was concerned about racism, I would have moved out of America a long time ago," the entertainer said in his rant on President Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live on September 29, wearing a "Make America Great Again" cap.

"We don't just make our decisions off of racism," he added. "I'ma break it down to you right now: If someone inspires me and I connect with them, I don't have to believe in all they policies."

His monologue, which subsequently went off-air due to time, was met with a rally of boos from the crowd. SNL comedian Kenan Thompson even likened the situation to being held hostage, although West claimed: "they bullied me backstage … and then they say I'm in a sunken place." Sources later told PEOPLE that was untrue.

The day after, he took his controversial rhetoric to Instagram by making the absurd suggestion that "we abolish the 13th amendment," which sparked explosive criticism from Lana Del Rey and actor Chris Evans.

"If you think it's alright to support someone who believes it's OK to grab a woman by the p***y just because he's famous - then you need an intervention as much as he does," the "Blue Jeans" songbird responded.

Though he's pulled this stunt before, we're sure this isn't the last we'll see (or hear) from Ye.
