24 Hour Fitness Reveals What Their Gyms Will Look Like After Pandemic!

As all businesses are trying to figure out what the world will look like once the pandemic is over, one business that will for sure look different is 24 Hour Fitness. Since so many people come in and out of the gym, the company has spent the last two months trying to figure out a new gym model that could work after the coronavirus crisis. 24 Hour Fitness CEO, Tony Ueber, says they're ready to reopen with modifications.

“The most important is we’re going to open the clubs for an hour at a time; let people come in and workout, then we'll close the club for 30 minutes in order to do a deep cleaning. And then open it back up for another 60-minute segment. The hour on, 30 minutes off will give cleaning crews the opportunity to thoroughly disinfect throughout the day."

Another change that will happen is members will need to make a reservation to workout using the 24GO app. The app will be used as contactless check-in and this reservation system will allow each club to limit the number of people inside the gym. Of course as members probably expected, some machines will be blocked off to allow for social distancing. If you're wondering about the group exercise classes, they will be moved to the basketball court so there's more space. The pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and locker rooms will remain closed for the interim. Employees will be required to wear masks and gloves, but face coverings are optional for members.
