The company is now introducing the idea of commercial-like videos advertising other Netdlix originals.
On the bright side, these ads will only play while the credits are rolling at the end of each episode.
It's been confirmed that Netflix is going to start testing the new ad experience. They stated "We are testing whether surfacing recommendations between episodes helps members discover stories they will enjoy faster. A couple of years ago, we introduced video previews to the TV experience, because we saw that it significantly cut the time members spend browsing and helped them find something they would enjoy watching even faster."
If you're wondering what to expect, after your episode ends, something will pop up on the screen advertising the next show, or name a show Netflix suggests you should check out and the trailer will begin playing.
Users have said that the new update is "a hassle". They noted that you can skip the update and that they have noted all the negative comments.
