Keith Urban And Carrie Underwood Head To Grammys Together

Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood will perform their new joint single, "The Fighter," at Sunday's Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.

He says, “It’s a song about helping to heal and protect someone you love. It’s a song about reassurance that you'll always be there to take the blows the world can throw... Carrie and I had sung together before and I thought our voices blended really well. She was unquestionably the right choice. It was such a relief that she wanted to do it.”

They weren't able to be in the studio together to record the song, but that didn't prevent them from getting the job done.

"She had a day off in St. Louis and I was on the other side of the country shooting the video for 'Wasted Time.' Busbee, who had written 'The Fighter,' flew to St. Louis and found a studio. She went in, sang her part and I took a break from filming and was FaceTiming them. It was a very 2016 moment."

Keith had another television date on Tuesday when he co-hosted the third hour of the Today show. The Grammys air live on Sunday night on CBS.
