You need to know about METRO closing two RED LINE stations this weekend

DC's METRO is closing two RED LINE stations which will effect tourists and locals who take the train service into Downtown DC this weekend.

Bethesda and Medical Center Stations will be closed down this weekend while WMATA does some sort of "leak" mitigation work, according to reports - and the DCist - which knows DC better than most.

Here’s more from WMATA:

Red Line:

Trains operate between Shady Grove & Grosvenor and Friendship Heights & Glenmont

Trains every 8 minutes opening until 9:30 p.m.

Trains every 15 minutes 9:30 p.m. until closing

Due to leak mitigation, free shuttle buses replace trains at Grosvenor, Medical Center, Bethesda and Friendship Heights

Bethesda and Medical Center stations will be closed.

Tap your SmarTrip card each time you enter and exit the Metrorail system. Riders traveling through the work zone will be charged for a single, continuous trip
