NFL Star keeps Promise, Takes Special Needs Student to Dance

San Francisco 49ers safety Don Jones is a man of great athletic ability on the field and a man of his word off the field.

Last year, a special needs student in Alabama named Lindsey Preston asked Jones to be her date at the school dance. Unfortunately, Jones wasn't available on that day -- but he promised to take her to this year's dance.

Lindsey never forgot about it and neither did Jones, whose mother works as a special needs aide at Lindsey's school.

Jones says, "Lindsey always stayed in contact with me and the family. Her mother asked me to go to prom with her last year so I told her I would be more than glad to." Then last week, Jones showed up at Lindsey's house in a tuxedo to pick her up and escort her to the dance.

Jones says, "Anything I can do to make some kids smile, I would be more than willing to do. I think the most fun was all of the guys. I showed the guys about 5 or 6 new dance moves." (WBRC-TV)
