When your dad is literally Batman, you are a little jaded to the whole "loving anything to do with movies and characters" thing, right?

Wrong.

Ben Affleck just opened up about how his son, 8-year-old Samuel who he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, is totally obsessed with the Star Wars franchise - and just got the surprise of a lifetime for his birthday gift.

Ben appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night and shared the story about how Kylo Ren himself - aka Adam Driver - went above and beyond for Samuel's birthday and helped make Ben the best dad ever.

Watch Ben tell the sweet story:

To put it simply, Adam went far above and beyond by sending a handful of Star Wars toys to Samuel for his birthday. And Ben shared why that, in turn, meant so much to him.

“It was an incredibly moving and powerful moment,” Ben shared about watching his son open the gifts.

He then continued:

“Adam made me a hero to my kid. And I will never, ever, ever, forget it... It’s a really good lesson in doing those small gestures of kindness, because you have no idea. For [Adam], he’s like, ‘Yeah, send the Kylo Ren doll and the Kylo Ren LEGO and the picture of Kylo Ren signed by Kylo Ren.’ But it meant the f—ing world to [Samuel]. So much.”

What made Adam's gesture even better? Ben had shown up to the birthday party nearly empty-handed as he had just flown into LA for the party from France where he was filming a new movie with Adam. The presents he had ordered got delayed in transit, and Ben was about to show up to the party with nothing... until Adam pulled through and made it Samuel's best birthday.

I've always wondered what actors' kids know about the movie business, and Ben summed it up. And it's the cutest thing EVER:

“My son knows that I do movies — they’re kinda fake — that his mom’s in movies and that’s all pretend... But he also knows that Star Wars is real. He knows there are guys out there fighting the emperor and that needs to get done. And I can do my fake s— and some people can do an important job. So I told him, ‘I’m actually in this movie with Kylo Ren’ and his mind opened in two. He was like, ‘But dad! How? How do you know Kylo? Are you going to space?’ Will he have his lightsaber?’"

KIDS. ARE. THE. BEST.

Shout out to Adam for going above and beyond. Use this as a reminder to do something kind for someone today!
