Cincinnati Bengals players and staff teamed up with Fifth Third Bank employees to assemble 4,000 Bengals-themed Power Packs for a new campaign called “Huddle for Hunger,” aiming to feed 1,000 students in 20 Greater Cincinnati schools every weekend in November. The initiative, launched during Hunger Action Month, will provide kids with enough food for the weekend to combat childhood food insecurity in the region. Freestore Foodbank will distribute the packs, which include over a dozen shelf-stable, kid-friendly food items, to ensure students have access to weekend nutrition and can focus on learning in the classroom.
The campaign addresses the substantial need for food assistance in the area, with Freestore Foodbank already distributing thousands of Power Packs to elementary students and providing meals through school pantries and the Kids Cafe program. The Bengals' partnership with the food bank follows their recent charity event to support Freestore Foodbank, as the organization navigates a leadership transition and rising demand for hunger relief services in the region.
