Politicians, Celebrities and More Remember Rush Limbaugh

Rush Limbaugh Gives A Speech In Michigan

Politicians and celebrities took to social media to mourn the death of conservative firebrand Rush Limbaugh. Limbaugh died on Wednesday (February 17) following a lengthy battle with lung cancer.

His wife, Kathryn, made the announcement during his radio show.

“For over 32 years, Rush has cherished you, his loyal audience, and always looked forward to every single show. It is with profound sadness I must share with you directly that our beloved Rush, my wonderful husband, passed away this morning due to complications from lung cancer,” she said.

The tributes poured in for Limbaugh, who was the most-listened-to national radio host in America. Former President Donald Trump told Fox News that Limbaugh was a "legend".

"There aren’t too many legends around, but he is a legend," Trump said. "He had tremendous insight. He got it, he really got it."

Former President George Bush called Limbaugh "an indomitable spirit with a big heart."

“While he was brash, at times controversial, and always opinionated, he spoke his mind as a voice for millions of Americans and approached each day with gusto,” Bush said in a statement. “Rush Limbaugh was an indomitable spirit with a big heart, and he will be missed.”

Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany credited Limbaugh for her decision to embark on a career in politics and media.

"America has lost the giant of conservatism, a man who inspired tens of thousands of Rush Babies like me to enter politics and media," McEnany said. "I can say without hesitation I would not have entered this field if it were not for those rides in my dad’s pickup truck listening to Rush."

Other politicians and media personalities shared their condolences on Twitter.
