While your words matter... how you say them matters too.
Once again, I didn't win Mother of the year last night. I was EXHAUSTED... and my daughter just wanted my attention. My complete attention. She followed me from room to room, asking a million questions.
I kept telling her...
I have to cook dinner.
I have to make the beds.
You need to do your homework.
You need to pick up your toys...
And she just kept asking away. It's like she was doing whatever she could to get my attention. And I failed to give her that, completely.
And I see this article. Cue the Mom Guilt.
Here's a good read about what your child will remember, and what may affect them most as the grow up.
Tonight, she gets my attention. All of it. At least for a little bit.
