Cardi B has finally announced that her debut album will drop in April, as per her Best New Artist award speech at Sunday night's (March 11) 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles.
Besting competitors like Khalid and Niall Horan, Bardi took the stage in an oversized red dress and accepted the title in the most Cardi B-esque way. To kick off her speech, the rapper decided to shout out those that are closest to her, including her teammates and fiancé Offset, but the 25-year-old chart-topper also decided to show love to her detractors. "I want to thank my haters, too, because [laughs] they be downloading my stuff, so they can hear it and talk crap about it but it benefits me," she said at the podium.
But she didn't leave the stage until dropping the big unveil that her debut LP will drop sometime in April, and, considering that she has back to back performances at both weekends of Coachella, we're going to cross our fingers that the LP drops at the beginning of the month.
Earlier in the night, Bardi stormed The Forum stage in a spiked biker top with a matching black tutu dress to kick off the DJ Khaled and Hailey Baldwin-hosted ceremony. With a crew of dancers and accompanying motorcycles, 2017's breakthrough star decided to fly through her meteoric year with a medley of her hits, including "Bartier Cartier," "Motorsport," "Finesse," "No Limit," and, of course, "Bodak Yellow."
