Is this journalism? The AP gives Melania the business

Breaking news from the Associated Press, the news organization that has garnered 52 Pulitzer prizes, America’s primary news source, the news platform that nearly all other news networks get their news and reporting information from. Very important, breaking news. Headline: “First lady Melania Trump greets the Macrons with a hat.”

The first line: “Melania, or more specifically Melania’s hat, what were you saying?” The article goes on to mock the First Lady for her appearance. To mock a legal immigrant to this country, a woman who earned her citizenship legally, who achieved the American Dream.

Look at the byline. It doesn’t credit any certain writer. It credits the Associated Press. The editors at the Associated Press had a powwow and agreed, “Yeah, sure, this is real journalism — let’s credit it to our entire news organization.”

During the Obama era, the mainstream media pranced around at every chance to celebrate Michelle Obama’s beauty. The Hill ranked her at number 9 on their list of the 50 most beautiful people of 2015. People magazine festooned her with similar honors.

The media adored her each step like a newlywed couple watching their child’s first steps. She could do no wrong. She was a strong woman exemplifying power, beauty, feminine grace. They lauded Michelle Obama at every turn of the way. Worshipful, proud, exuberant in their praise.

“It’s the latest example of the mainstream media’s hatred for President Trump.”

Meanwhile, Melania Trump is quite literally a fashion model and she’s been largely scowled at by the media. It’s the latest example of the mainstream media’s hatred for President Trump. Not his policy. Him. Leftists and their parrot-like media hate him, and they’re frothing at the mouth to watch him fail, in any way they can muster.

Say what you want about the man, but delusional hostility like that is far more than frightening. At this point, we need to find a middle ground and try to help these people, before they sink the boat entirely.
