Southwest Pilot Of Landed Plane Yesterday Has Been Hailed A Hero

Yesterday, one of Southwest airlines flight 1380 with 149 passengers heading to Dallas had a emergency landing in Philly after one of the engines exploded. One passenger was killed while several others were injured. It could've been a lot worse if it wasn't pilot, Tammie Jo Shults' quick reaction and calmness.

“No, it’s not on fire, but part of it’s missing. They said there’s a hole, and — uh — someone went out.” - Shults told air traffic controllers.

Shults was also one of the first women fighter pilots in the US Navy so her experience was just the situation needed.
