This is a surprise pairing we definitely didn't see coming! Famed director and producer Ava DuVernay and former 49er Colin Kaepernick are teaming up for a brand new TV comedy series!
According to Vanity Fair, DuVernay is working on the show that will be inspired by Kap's high school experiences. "[Duvarney} is meeting with her Wrinkle producer Jim Whitaker on two new projects, including the Battle of Versailles movie at HBO and a TV comedy series with Colin Kaepernick that centers on his high school life."
This gives fans a better idea of his life before the fame. As New York Daily News reports, the athlete was adopted by white parents shortly after his birth and raised in Turlock, California. By senior year, Kap was a football, basketball and baseball all-star athlete at John H. Pitman High School. Will you be watching?
