A research expedition studying deep sea marine life off the coast of Australia recovered a bizarre 'faceless' fish that hasn't been seen in over a century.
The rather odd-looking creature was snagged using a small net from two-and-a-half miles deep in the water at an area near Sydney.
Marine biologists say that the fish's unique appearance comes from the fact that its mouth can be found on the bottom of the creature and its eyes that are almost imperceptible.
Get a better look at the hideous fish, if you dare, and find out more about the strange creature at the Coast to Coast AM website.
