Ben Affleck made the move in 2002 by proposing to Jennifer Lopez with a 6.1-carat pink diamond engagement ring from Harry Winston. We all know how that turned out but the diamond sparkler could be worth a pretty penny today.

As per Page Six Style's go-to diamond experts, the ring, which was estimated to be worth $2.5 million in the early 2000s, could be worth so much more today. In fact, Mike Fried, CEO of The Diamond Pro, told the celebrity gossip outlet that his company sells similar rings in the $11 million ballpark. “Our fancy color partner has created similar rings to J.Lo’s, most recently two years ago," Fried explained. "The cost was roughly $10 million. I’d imagine the price of her ring would be closer to $11 million today." He also added that color diamonds, especially pink ones, are harder to locate than colorless ones.

Meanwhile, Ajay Anand, CEO of Rare Carat, told the celebrity gossip outlet, that folks have to go far and wide to find diamonds of that color. "Ninety percent of [pink] diamonds come from one place: the Argyle mine in Australia, which announced its closure in 2020 and stopped production this year," Anand revealed. "Since 1983, the Argyle mine has been a major producer of the world’s finest pink diamond supply and the go-to for fancy pink diamonds. The mine yields a rainbow of colors, from pinks to blues to violets and the rarest of all: red."

Back in 2002, Lopez recalled the moment that Affleck gave her the ring, emphasizing its uniqueness. “He was like, ‘I just wanted you to have something that nobody else would have,'" she said in an interview with Diane Sawyer, deeming the piece "the most magnificent thing [she’s] ever seen."

Rumor has it that Lopez never returned the ring and is still in possession of the sparkler. As per her former publicist, Robert Shuter, the entertainer has it in her care. “As far as I know, Jen has never returned the ring," he told Access Daily in May. "So if things move forward with these two, gosh, she’s already got the most beautiful ring I've seen. It’s absolutely stunning."
