Vampire Weekend Is Dropping Two New Songs Next Week

Vampire Weekend is dropping two new songs next week as part of the rollout for the band's upcoming fourth album, Father of the Bride. When the New York indie rockers first announced the record, their plan was to release two songs a month for three months leading up to the release. After delivering the first installment—"Harmony Hall" and "2021"—in January, we've been eagerly awaiting this month's drop. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we'll be getting new music in February due to getting "some ducks in a row;" however, the band announced on Instagram that we can expect "Sunflower" and "Big Blue" on March 6.

"SUNFLOWER / BIG BLUE OUT NEXT WEDNESDAY, MARCH 6. wanted to get it out in February but we were convinced by intelligent people to wait a week to get some ducks in a row. Lots more coming/happening in Phase 2. It’s about to get pretty busy," the band explained in the post. "A couple fun facts: Sunflower is the sibling song of Flower Moon. Big Blue was played off the speakers at our Lollapalooza aftershow in Chicago last summer. (Who was there??) SEE U NEXT WEEK"

Check out the announcement below.

"Flower Moon" is a song Vampire Weekend teased during a show in Ojai and reportedly features The Internet's Steve Lacy. A few weeks ago, Jonah Hill was spotted directing a music video with the band for what is believed to be "Sunflower." The actor also has a small cameo in the "Harmony Hall" video, which dropped last week. Though Ezra Koenig and company haven't announced a release date for Father of the Bride yet, they've implied that it should be coming out in March or April, before the band embarks on an extensive North American tour.
