Kehlani has been sitting still since the release of her debut studio record, SweetSexySavage, in 2017. But not for much longer.
The R&B singer-songwriter is gearing up to drop her first new tune of 2019 with the arrival of her latest single, "Nights Like This," hitting eardrums Thursday (January 10). The star teased the deets this week via Twitter, along with a set of images from what looks to be the music video for the upcoming track.
A number of the shots depict the 23-year-old engineering an android of an attractive woman, who despite fan speculations, serves no romantic purpose in the final cut. Nonetheless, the pop star seems pleased with her work as another photo shows her staring into the luminous eyes of her creation.
"Kehlani really making her own lover same," one Twitter user suspected, to which the "Honey" musician clarified, "Nope… i was just being nice. Theory is sweet tho."

While "Nights Like This" will mark her first solo offering since 2017, Kehlani went on to bag high-profile features with artists like Cardi B and Charlie Puth the following year.
Aside from the anticipation for the record, the "Gangsta" vocalist is currently expecting her first child, a daughter, with her guitarist and partner Javaughn Young-White.
