Taylor Swift To Open 2018 American Music Awards With 'I Did Something Bad'

Taylor Swift is set on making her return to the American Music Awards on Tuesday (October 9) with "I Did Something Bad" — her first performance on the show since her live rendition of "Blank Space" in 2014.

On Tuesday (October 2), Swift announced the big news in a pre-taped message via Good Morning America with her friendly feline Meredith by her side. "Good Morning, America. It's Taylor," the singer began. "I just wanted to say I'm going to be opening up the American Music Awards with a performance. So, I wanted to..." At that point, Meredith walked away from the star, prompting Swift to tell her pet, "Don't be too excited about it, my God."

Later on, Swift posted the video on her social channels. "I'm opening up the American Music Awards with a performance of 'I Did Something Bad,'" she captioned the clip. "Meredith is not excited, but I am. #AMAs."

As per E!, "I Did Something Bad" is the fourth single off Swift's multi-platinum reputation after "Look What You Made Me Do," "End Game (featuring Future and Ed Sheeran) and "Delicate."

Swift joins previously announced performers like Mariah Carey, Benny Blanco, Halsey, Khalid, Ciara, Missy Elliott, Cardi B, Bad Bunny, J Balvin and many more. She is also nominated in four categories this year, including Artist of the Year, Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist, Favorite Pop/Rock Album (reputation) and Tour of the Year ("reputation Stadium Tour"). Tracee Ellis Ross is hosting the show on ABC live from LA's Microsoft Theater at 8 PM ET.
