Dave Grohl Plays Drums for Beck During Backyard Fundraiser

Over the weekend, Beck played a special show at a private Swing Left backyard fundraiser in Los Angeles benefitting Aftab Pureval, a candidate for congress in Ohio. And he had a helluva band backing him.

Indie pop duo The Bird and the Bee's Inara George sang backup vocals and Greg Kurstin played keyboard while Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl got back to his roots and played drums.

Together, the supergroup rocked out to a handful of Beck's most iconic songs, including his 1996 hit "Where It's At."

Those attending the fundraiser promptly posted footage on Instagram. Check out a few clips below.

This collaborative performance is the latest in a slew of surprising guest performances with and from Beck. Last week the singer-songwriter played Neil Young's "Harvest Moon" with Jenny Lewis during the actual Harvest Moon. In early September, he joined Phoenix onstage in L.A. to play two of his songs — "Lost Cause" off 2002's Sea Change and "Jack-Ass" off 1996's Odelay — during the Parisian alt-rockers' residency. Later in the month, he brought out Gary Numan during his headlining Riot Fest set to perform his '70s hit "Cars."

After being on the road for the better part of this year, Beck played the final show of his expansive Colors tour on Friday (September 28) at L.A.'s Hollywood Bowl.
