This Week's Weird News 6/6/25

An alleged Bigfoot video from Colorado, a triangular UFO filmed over Toronto, and a ne'er-do-well who keeps dumping cooking grease on the front door of an Ohio antique mall were among the weird and wondrous stories to cross our desk this past week.

Bigfoot was back in the news in a fittingly big way this past week when a Colorado raft tour company released a video of what they claimed was a Sasquatch sighting captured by their guides. The tantalizing footage of a hairy bipedal figure lurking behind some bushes on a hillside near the Colorado River sparked worldwide headlines and considerable speculation as to the veracity of the strange sighting. The remarkable clarity of the footage caused some to believe it could have been a genuine glimpse of the elusive cryptid. More skeptical observers, however, posited that the scene was too good to be true and, as such, likely a clever and wildly successful publicity stunt from the tour company.

Three peculiar UFO videos popped up on our radar this past week, beginning with some interesting footage from Ohio where a man filmed a pulsating orb that passed over his mother's house. Leaving the witness scratching his head, the anomalous object appeared to rapidly change colors as it crossed the sky for approximately one minute before vanishing from sight. Later in the week, a group of friends in Toronto were mystified when they spotted a triangular UFO hovering over the Canadian city. Finally, in Utah, a father and son were left scratching their heads when an odd silver orb cruised through the sky over their backyard.

This past week featured a pair of stories involving rather unusual criminals up to no good. First, in Ohio, an antique mall took to social media asking the public for help in identifying a miscreant who has repeatedly doused their front door with cooking grease. Understandably expressing consternation over the messy acts of vandalism, staff at the shop were mystified as to who could be behind the bizarre incidents and why they were specifically being targeted. Meanwhile, in Australia, a school security camera captured footage of a burglar who busted out an elaborate minute-long dance before he broke into a school and stole thousands of dollars worth of electronic equipment.
