A mystery creature photographed in Britain, a Maine psychic who located human remains, and an odd piece of metal removed from the hand of an alleged alien mummy were among the weird and wondrous stories to cross our desk this past week.
A pair of particularly puzzling photographs popped up in the news this past week with both images leaving us scratching our heads. First, in Britain, a game camera at a wildlife conservation park snapped a picture of a mysterious creature that appeared to be a small deer sporting a pair of small wings. The wondrous image mystified the staff at the facility as they had no idea what the odd animal could have been. Meanwhile, in Thailand, a massive pillar was photographed seemingly hovering in the sky over a city. The aerial anomaly sparked all manner of speculation on Thai social media to the point that a popular science communicator in the country even weighed on the weird 'stairway to heaven.'
This past week saw another chapter added to the strange saga of the alleged alien mummies found in Peru. Former forensic doctor for the Mexican Navy, Dr Jose Zalce Benitez, was enlisted to dissect a three-fingered hand that was recovered from the same location as the infamous figures unveiled by UFO researcher Jaime Maussan. During the delicate procedure, he removed a peculiar piece of metal that the doctor described as an "implant." While some posited that the mysterious metal alloy might indicate that the beings are, indeed, otherworldly, skeptics argued that the object is further proof that the figures are a fabrication.
By far the most eyebrow-raising story of the week came by way of Maine, where a psychic helping on a missing person cold case located a body, but the remains turned out to be someone else. For the past few years, the family of Kimberly Moreau has been working with Laurencia Bourget in the hopes that her gift could provide them with some answers to the teen's 1986 disappearance. Remarkably, the psychic recently contacted her father with the overwhelming sense that they needed to search behind an abandoned bowling alley in their community. When they looked in the location, they were stunned to find a skeleton, though an examination by law enforcement determined that the remains were that of a man and not Kimberly.
