The time has come...
This weekend is Star Wars weekend as Saturday is May the Fourth and Sunday is the dark side - Revenge of the Fifth. If you're interested in celebrating, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures has planned an amazing day that "includes a Droid meet and greet, all-age workshops, community mural, and screenings."
"There's nothing that compares to seeing Star Wars fans all gather together, collectively to celebrate these films," said the Academy Museum's Chief Audience Officer Amy Homma. "When they all gather to celebrate their fandom, it's truly magical."
Check out the schedule for the day at the Academy of Motion Pictures below:
- 11am-2pm: Community Mural
- 11am screening: Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983)
- 12:30pm-4:30pm: May the 4th Art-Making Activities
- 1pm: Force Training Demonstration
- 7:30pm screening: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)
- Meet & Greets: BB8 and R2D2 Meet & Greet: 10:30am-12pm, 2pm-4pm
Another fun thing in L.A. you can do is go visit the Star Wars themed bar - Scum & Villainy Cantina on Hollywood Blvd. In celebration of May the 4th, they'll be giving out free buttons for the first 100 people to attend their celebration, which starts at 6am.
