We all have an accent…Ryan, had one from growing up in Georgia…I guess Tanya and I have a California accent. But now social media is spawning its OWN accents.
Whether or not we’ve noticed…we have all heard someone doing “the influence accent”.
Some call it “TikTalk” — and a linguistics experts think it may be the future of the English accent.
But one of the reasons is when the influencer inflicts their voice up higher at the end of a sentence…it seems unfinished and keeps us watching.
No one talks that way in real life! BUT…if it keeps people listening longer...maybe we should try it?
