But these beaches are actually open to the public!
Have you heard of Lechuza Beach in Malibu? Probably not. There used to be signs that directed you there…
But, local officials tore them down…so very few know about this this pristine 21-mile coastline.
Well, Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority want to let us know that this beach is here and it is for all of us to enjoy!
This seems to happen a lot in Malibu and many people seem to think that some beaches are private when really, they’re not!
So MRCA puts up signs for these secret public beaches… but Malibu officials tear them down…saying they are trying to limit beach attendance!
So here are some other beaches in the ‘Bu, you may not know about…
- Escondido Beach - The entrance is just off the patio of Geoffrey’s Restaurant! Who knew?
- Puerco and Amarillo Beaches – There are 7 access points off Malibu Road but most are between houses so people assume they’re private. They’re not. Turn onto Malibu Road from the PCH at the Ralphs.
- Latigo Beach – There is beach access right before some condos on Seagull Way. Again, looks private, but it’s not.
