College Student Commutes By Plane To Internship Instead Of Paying For Rent

A college student went viral after she posted a TikTok on how she commutes to her internship in New Jersey.

Sophia Celentano lives in Charleston, South Carolina with her family and has a summer internship in Newark. She commutes to that internship by plane because she said it's cheaper than living in New Jersey or New York. I believe that! In the TikTok, Sophia says that she wakes up at 3am to get ready and catch a flight from Charleston to Newark. The reasons behind super commuting are for the amount of money she is saving plus she gets to spend time with her family because she is a student at the University of Virginia.

Sophia of course breaks down the financial aspect, which include $100/week for Spirit flights, $100 Uber rides and $25 for food during the 10 week internship. The total amount Sophia is paying for the internship ends up being $2,250 and that in itself is barely enough rent for a spot in New Jersey or New York. Sophia only has to be at her internship's office for Ogilvy Health once a week so finding a place to stay wasn't worth it. Would you super commute if it was cheaper than paying for rent?
