Amazon Will Soon Be Letting Customers Use Venmo To Make Payments

Amazon has just announced that customers will be able to use their Venmo accounts to make payments through the site. As of right now, the payment option will be available only to select customers and will be fully accessible to all U.S. based customers by Black Friday, which is next month on November 25th.

All you'll need to do is add your Venmo account; once you are ready to checkout on the Amazon site, hit "select payment method" and then click on the "add a Venmo account." Once this is done, you'll be redirected to the Venmo app where you complete the authentication and finalize your purchase.

“We want to offer customers payment options that are convenient, easy to use, and secure—and there’s no better time for that than the busy holiday season. Whether it’s paying with cash, buying now and paying later, or now paying via Venmo, our goal is to meet the needs and preferences of every Amazon customer,” Max Bardon, vice president of Amazon Worldwide Payment said in a statement. The e-commerce platform already offers different payment methods like credit and debit cards from networks like Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diner’s Club and JCB.

If you are wondering if you can use your Venmo balance, the answer is yes. Customers who link their Venmo accounts to their Amazon payment option will be able to use their Venmo balance, linked bank account or eligible debit card during the transaction. Click here for more.
