Are Nose Jobs A Thing Of The Past?

As a millennial, I grew up with movies like Clueless and shows like Beverly Hills 90210, where referencing a nose job was as common as making a lunch reservation.

Yes, as a teen, changing my nose did cross my mind, I have a little hump that I guess had always bugged me…but I’m glad I never did.

Earlier this year, Bella Hadid shared in an interview with Vogue that she had a nose job at the age of 14…saying, "I wish I had kept the nose of my ancestors. I think I would have grown into it."

This statement really caused a trend on TikTok and quite possibly a shift in the rhinoplasty industry!

#nosetrend currently has over 22.7M views and features users showing the side profile of their nose, then capturing the slope with a black-and-white freeze frame photo.

One girl posted… “My ethnic nose is what makes my face unique. It’s chic and sophisticated. No surgeon can create this.”

While nose reshaping is still in the top five of cosmetic surgeries performed, it’s worth noting that the number of procedures has really gone down in the last few years.

Do we have Gen Z to thank?
