Several new laws will go into effect in California including one that will alter school schedules for many students. Starting today, middle schools including those operated as charter school cannot start before 8am. Also, most high school campuses can start no earlier than 8:30 am. The goal of this legislation is to provide pre-teens and teenagers with more sleep and better health.
