AITA For Forgoing Food for Mickey and Minnie at My Wedding? Yes.

We're all familiar with the Reddit Thread AITA. This AITA has the internet so outraged the moderators had to remove the post. Thankfully, Twitter never forgets and ALWAYS keeps receipts.

User throwaway_family9525 posted in the thread asking if she was the a**hole for ditching catering at her wedding so that she could have a special appearance by Mickey and Minnie instead. She stated that her and her husband are huge Disney fans, so having Minnie and Mickey at the wedding, to her, was worth sacrificing catering for her guests.

"The cost to have both Minnie and Mickey for a goo chunk of time (30 minutes) was almost exactly what our parents allotted for our catering budget, so we scheduled an appearance during our first dance and our wedding photos, forgoing served food (though there was PLENTY of facilities at the venue where people could eat)."

She said it was her dream wedding, but she was shocked to see her aunt and other guests posting online about how displeased they were regarding the lack of catering.

Since the post initially appeared couple days ago, it has spread like wildfire across social media with many wondering why the couple would pick Disney entertainment over food. "Minnie" even began trending on Twitter Monday afternoon. The bride said that they booked two sessions with the famous duo which cost $2750 per session.

Both Reddit and Twitter agreed with the guests. Comments on the Reddit thread included "I love Disney - but damn you are rude", "Don't host a party if you can't take care of your guests", and "If meeting two random people dressed in Disney costumes was so important to you, why did you have a wedding with guests?"; similarly, "You should have just had yourself with those two actors, taken pictures and video and shared with friends and family."

Twitter was equally not impressed.

If I'm being honest, I feel sympathetic towards the bride and groom. While I do agree they should have found some way to be more accommodating of their guests, I also understand the pressure and disappointment wanting to have that day be exactly the way you want it and having that being different than the way others want it. Truly, I'm surprised more people don't just elope.
