Ava Max Talks 'Maybe You're The Problem', Her Upcoming Album, And More!

You may know Ava Max from her hit songs "Sweet but Psycho" or "Kings & Queens", well she's back with her new single "Maybe You're The Problem." Ava stopped by Valentine in the Morning to talk all about "Maybe You're The Problem," her upcoming album, and more!

"Maybe You're The Problem" is the first single off of her upcoming album and she says she's never written anything so personal.

"They're [the lyrics] are very personal to me and I have never written a song like this. I've always written about female empowerment and about things i've gone through as a woman in the industry with 'Kings & Queens' and 'Who's Laughing Now' and kind of just making it through a tough time like growing up and trying to make it in the industry. But this one is about a specific person and last year was one of the hardest years of my life. Personally, I went through a lot and this song was a song that kind of came out of me out of nowhere one morning when I was really upset. I was in a session with my friends and I got on the microphone and the words spilled out of me and afterwards I was like that felt good. They're like play it back and i'm like why? that was just me, it was kind of therapeutic and they're like no no no, play it back and we played it back and we all fell in love with the song. We finished it and now it's the first single of the second album."

Ava's upcoming second album is done and she gave us some insight of what we can expect from it.

"The album is done and i'm very very excited to share it with the world. It's going to make you cry and dance at the same time. I didn't want to make slow songs. I wanted to make dance music, but at the time I was upset so there's a lot on the album. There's a little bit for everybody. If you're not going to like one song that's maybe pop disco, you're going to like another that's 90s house pop. I wanted to incorporate different genres in the pop world and i'm just really excited. It's everything I used to listen to put together on one album. This is the most personal album. The last album was personal in a different way. This is more about something I never share, which is my personal life. It's what I went through last year. I was in a very very long relationship and no one knew."
